Inter-curricular

Special Activities & Learning

A well-rounded education goes beyond reading, writing and arithmetic. Lawrence Park School offers a range of inter-curricular studies to broaden your child’s horizons and help them develop their own areas of interest.

French

Children have a unique ability to grasp new languages. By introducing young children to French through games, songs and activities, we can help them develop a basic understanding that may follow them through adulthood and help hone their ear for language. Our French curriculum is facilitated by a dedicated and highly-educated French instructor.

Music

Musical literacy gives children a new avenue through which they can express themselves and explore new concepts. Lawrence Park School instructs children in the basics of rhythm, pitch and rudimentary musical theory through sing-alongs, games and even percussive instruments. Our dedicated music instructor aims to instill a love of music, especially singing and dancing with the children.

Physical Play

At LPS, we make a point of incorporating exercise into your child’s daily educational experience as the importance of physical activity for young children goes beyond maintaining a healthy body; it also teaches spatial awareness, body awareness and gross motor skills, not to mention allowing them to expend extra energy. Children at Lawrence Park are provided regular, regimented gym time, in which they are encouraged to use their bodies through games, sports and other activities. When the weather is pleasant, we take physical playtime outside, otherwise we take it inside into our large gym.

What Sets Us Apart

At Lawrence Park School, we strive to offer a well-rounded approach to early childhood education. In addition to laying the foundation for your child’s future academic pursuits, we also empower them with social and collaborative intelligence to help them navigate through life. By balancing structured and unstructured play, we offer your child the opportunity to develop resourcefulness, helping to build confidence and a strong sense of self.

Our team of early childhood educators are all highly educated and come with a wide variety of degrees and certifications as well as a deep passion for helping children learn and grow. Our staff is focused on creating a safe and stimulating environment in which your child can discover the world around them. With a wealth of relevant experience, the early childhood educators at Lawrence Park School are well equipped to encourage and care for your child.

Lawrence Park School believes in the importance of open communication. The LPS blog and weekly emails keep you informed about what your child is learning with us. Our team is always available at pick-up and drop-off times to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. You are always welcome to email us to book a private appointment or visit during Meet The Teacher Night. Finally, reports are issued at various times throughout the year to share your child’s progress.

If your child’s mind is a machine, food is the fuel. By collaborating with a Registered Nutritionist, we’ve ensured that your child is provided with a well-balanced meal as well as a snack, all of which are made in-house. We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible to create food that tastes great and helps children grow and learn.
