Curriculum

Stimulating Early Childhood Education

With both the freedom of self-led exploration and the discipline of structured learning, children at Lawrence Park School receive a uniquely balanced educational experience. Our structured curriculum helps children hone their listening skills, improve their attention span and grasp the basics of math and language. Meanwhile, self-directed play allows children to develop their own interests and take an active role in their own education.

Our Programs

Toddler & Preschool Program
(18 months-4 years)

For most Toddlers and for many Preschoolers, this is their first experience in a social setting, where they learn how to play together, follow routines and make friends. LPS provides a safe environment as they develop confidence and independence in these new skills, especially as they become aware of the needs of others, not just their own.

Our Toddler and Preschool Program puts a central focus on helping children grasp the concept of language and words through Jolly Phonics. We work with children on their early decoding skills, uncovering the relationship between sounds and letters to facilitate their future literacy. In addition to language skills, children also have the opportunity to grow in terms of listening, creative thinking, problem-solving and fine and gross motor skills.

Enriched Kindergarten Program
(4-6 years)

Our Enriched Kindergarten Program offers a low student-staff ratio for both Junior and Senior Kindergarteners. We strive to provide a curriculum that lends itself to working in small groups and creates fun and meaningful learning. We follow an inquiry-based learning model, placing a high value on the child’s interests, questions and ideas. With a focus on foundational learning for future schooling, our Enriched Kindergarten Program provides an introduction to math skills, reading and writing. Children are also encouraged to explore self-expression through physical activity, art, music and more. The overall goal is to help children develop a love of learning, build a positive academic foundation and prepare for grade one and private school entrance.

We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible to create food that tastes great and helps children grow and learn.
